one of the many reasons i feel like i'm linked in sonic spirit to current uk dance musics [dubstep/funky/garage/bassline/wot u call it, etc.] is because of occasional mid-90s r&b throwbacks, the sustenance of my musical youth. such as:

kulture doing erykah badu's "tyrone"

marco del horno dropping a remix of swv's "rain" [1st proper song after the intro]

spyro mixing in a garage version of nicole wray's "boy you should listen" [1/3 into the new ladies july mix]

the prevalence of jill scott and grievous angel's own refix of d'angelo's "lady" on this devotional dubz mix

the crazy bassline remix of mariah carey's "my all"

but not only remixes, but also on burial's "etched headplate" [sneakily sampling amanda perez's "angel"] to the mere vocal vibe on pangaea's "router".

it's like facing backwards but going forward.

and i now realize that i TOTALLY need to jump on 702's no doubt and swv's release some tension like super quick !!!!!!!
